Calling All Members!
Since becoming Secretary of the Society, there have been a number of occasions where winning members have not
cashed in cheques. After investigation I usually find this is due to incorrect addresses and in virtually all
cases I have been able to get the winnings to the right person in the end.
I think there is a belief that the Society and CWU Solent Branch are one and the same and share the same address book, this is not the case. The Society has to be visably seperate fron the Union Branch so that in times of dispute or industrial action, the Society's funds cannot be frozen or taken away.
The Treasurer and I do our best to keep the Society's membership records up to date but we do need you the members
to tell us if you move. In fact to try and make sure the records are as up to date as possible, I would encourage
you, the members to e-mail me with your current address regardless of if you have recently moved.
We will then make sure we have your address correct and by return e-mail send you your password to the members area.
The members area includes the draw winners list, news about the society, dates of meeting etc.
